Since the advent of wireless networks, firstwave has been at the forefront of technical development. The world of wireless technology has progressed rapidly, and highly complex systems have now been developed and implemented for improved ranges and transfer rates.
In this section of the site, we aim to provide a simple introduction to the topic of wireless networks. Alongside wireless LAN products in the 2.4 and 5GHz frequency ranges, the firstwave wireless network product family also includes optical point-to-point radio (p-t-p LaserLink systems), as well as licensed point-to-point radio (microwave systems). | |
The Introduction section offers an explanation of some basic principles of wireless technology, for both indoor (inside buildings, warehouses, etc.) and outdoor applications (such as point-to-point radio links, e.g. for connecting networks).
The Applications sections explains the possible topologies in each case, and includes links to some WLAN projects that have actually been implemented.
